Spencer is currently the Sports Director at WKTV NEWSChannel 2 in Utica, N.Y. He graduated in May 2013 from Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science.
In this position, he is the head of the sports department at the #1 station in Utica. He has covered everything from the Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony, to the 2016 NCAA Men’s Final Four in Houston, TX, to the Calder Cup Finals (AHL hockey) and everything in between.
Prior to becoming the Sports Director, Spencer spent one year as the Digital Media Producer, before being promoted to the Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter position where he spent another year. Before that, he spent two summers as the Sports Intern at the station.
While attending Hofstra University, Spencer was a staff member of 88.7FM WRHU, where he was a part of the sports department, providing play by play, color commentary, and beat reporting for various Hofstra Pride DI sports teams.

He served as a Feature Reporter for the New York Islanders of the NHL, where he interviewed some of the top players within the Islanders locker room, and around the league for air during Islanders’ game broadcasts on WRHU, including during the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Pittsburgh Penguins, which were simulcasted on 98.7FM ESPN Radio New York, and WFAN 660AM.
